🍳Eggs & Issues🎙 Business Breakfast with MP Cynthia Lui

Douglas Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend "EGGS & ISSUES", a business breakfast at the Port Douglas Combined Club.

Breakfast kicks off at 7.30 am on Thursday 15 March 2018, so pop over to the deck before heading in to work, to hear from MP Cynthia Lui, who will be addressing questions with notice regarding steps being pursued by the government or by her to protect and promote business activity in the Douglas region (and tourism in particular).

Cynthia has very kindly agreed to return to speak to Douglas Shire business representatives about local issues following up on her appearance at our Candidate Forum last year. Cynthia has strong connections to the Cook electorate having been born on Thursday Island and raised on Yam Island in the Torres Strait. Her grandfather was a community teacher and both he and her father served as Chairperson of Yam Island Community Council. Cynthia grew up valuing the importance of community service and has a real understanding of how unique and diverse our region is, and we look forward to receiving your submissions for her to address.

Fellow guest speakers include Dr Russell Joshua, CEO of the Mossman Botanic Garden, who brings a wealth of experience and networks to the Garden team having worked for large financial institutions in Australia and off-shore, as well as small, high growth technology firms and in government. Most recently, Dr Joshua was the international director at James Cook University. Dr Joshua is passionate about botany, regional development and the rainforests of Queensland’s wet tropics being a resident of the Daintree and actively involved in the work of the Australian Tropical Herbarium.

Breakfast and delicious coffee will be served on the deck for the event, with plenty of opportunity for you to share your ideas, make connections and enjoy our local business community.
